Identity and Mission

Messiah College is a Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences. The College is committed to an embracing evangelical spirit rooted in the Anabaptist, Pietist and Wesleyan traditions of the Christian Church.

Our mission is to educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership and reconciliation in church and society.

The Community Covenant of Messiah College

Messiah College students’ and employees’ relationships with, and responsibilities to, each other are guided and directed by The Community Covenant , an agreement rooted in Messiah’s distinct theological heritage and educational commitments, that discusses:

  • our freedoms and responsibilities as we live in community with one another;
  • our relationship with God, creation, and each other; and
  • practical implications of community life.

At Messiah College, the Community Covenant provides a biblical framework and context for our community life and “affirms that life draws meaning from submission to Christ and service to others.”
